Challenge
The owners of Atlantic Central Logistics were planning to sell their building in a few years, while retaining ownership of the land. The building required a new roof, and it already had existing tenants. The challenge was to add value to the property without disrupting current operations.
Solution
A customized solar energy finance solution was developed, which included roof financing and a real estate model that showcased the increased building value due to the addition of solar energy. This solution also resulted in long-term lower utility bills, benefiting both the property owners and tenants. Additionally, the original owners retained the State Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) when they sold the building, further enhancing their financial position.
