Cloud Migrations
Cassandra Consulting has performed multiple successful on-premise current and legacy Oracle databases to public cloud platforms on OCI, Azure and AWS/RDS. Even with PaaS database services where ostensively the hypervisor, the guest os and vm and the rdbms Oracle binaries are all managed – performance tuning and backup management is still the customer’s responsibility. The cloud also offers various back up resiliency services that Oracle can leverage in both PaaS and IaaS based environment. Cassandra is skilled in both of these areas.

Performance Tuning
The biggest bang for the buck in performance tuning is SQL tuning. Nothing can deliver performance more cost effectively than tuning a resource intensive job so that it runs faster and with less resource before. Unfortunately, many applications are canned SQL and can’t be altered. SQL Profiling, judicious indexing ( both addition and subtraction along with monitoring and performance tuning tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and RAT –Real Application Tuning can be implemented by Cassandra Consulting.
Moreover, Cassandra Consulting can tune both Linux/Unix kernels (i.e. Huge Pages) they can also tune the Oracle RDBMS environment with SGA tweaking, partitioning and parallel query tuning. On-Premise Solutions

These legacy systems consist primarily on AIX, Solaris or HPUX—all of these are commercial Unix flavors that are based on proprietary RISC architecture ( Big Endian) and Intel/AMD CISC ( Little Endian based) CPU. The vast majority of systems including Linux and NT and the hypervisors as well are Intel/AMD x86 64 based. Cassandra Consulting has extensive experience both supporting these OS and high probability of legacy versions of Oracle as well as migrating and upgrading them to new host platforms both in the cloud and on-prem.
Oracle Upgrades
Major revision up grades can often be a yearlong project because of the extensive impact Oracle upgrades especially can bring.
Cassandra has worked on many successful upgrades including 11g to 12c and 12c to 19c.
Legacy upgrades are a real issue and Cassandra has encountered more than a few Oracle 8i instances running for years like that! 9.2 10g, 11g, and old versions of 12c are still quite shockingly plentiful. These usually require multistep upgrades so they are even more complicated.
